Reply:Very nice car!An FYI, the front mustang fender aprons are a complete panel from the frame rail all the way up to the fender. Personally I would have replaced the whole panel instead of seaming it in the middle. Just mentioning because some guys are very picky on stuff like this looking absolutely correct and original.
Reply:replacing the whole apron is what I wanted to do but the owner wanted it repaired this way and he's paying the bill so thats how I did it. I wasnt too concerned being under the battery box no one is ever going to see it if it would have been some place more noticable I my have tried harder to convince him.
Reply:Every Mustang..Falcon..Fairlane..Comet..Maverick..Granada..LTD...Montego...The list goes on..Have the same thing in the same place.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Really nice ride and good work too. I can't blame you for being a little nervous about putting that under the knife.I have the same sort of junk starting to creep in on my project ride too. Already replaced the one side's tray..now to do the other.Chevy, but same sort of rust spot in a battery tray. I would think one good case of battery electrolyte leakage would only exacerbate the problem of rust.Zap's right on though. An old Highschool friend of mine bought a decently kept 69 fastback back when. When we were cleaning up the front end it had the rust holes in the exact same spot.HTP Invertig 221-DV -- get's dragged everywhere.Syncro 200 -- "The Boat Anchor" at the lab.Lincoln 125 MIG

Reply:this fella is never going to sell this car, he bought it when he got home from vietnam from his neighbor who caught his son drag racing it on the weekends. Resale is not an issue with him. thanks for the positive feed back.

Reply:I participated in the restoration of a 67 GT500,one of my all time favorite projects. This car was an original owner car, it was blue with white stripes. I can still remember how nervous I was when pulling that car in or out of the garage or moving it around the driveway....I just wish I could have drove it around for a little while Lincoln pro mig 180Lincoln Square Wave Tig 300/wp 20/home built water cooler Victor, Purox, Harris, O/A welding/cutting setupsVintage Craftsman drill pressVintage Craftsman/Atlas 12"x 36'' lathe7''x 12'' w/c band saw Everlast 140 st |
