I bought this welder generator a couple years ago at an auction for $200.00 dollars in a non running condition. The only thing wrong was some carburetor problems after fixing those it runs great and I have used it numerous times around the farm and it worked fine as a small generator and a welder. I had a power outage and was using it to power the blower on my wood furnace. I left for a half an hour to go get some more fuel when I returned it had quit producing power. I checked to see if it would strike an arc and no luck. I have checked anything that looked like a fuse and pulled the brushes out everything looks and checks out. I can't figure out or know what to check. I have definitely got my moneys worth and know it is Chinese but it does run good and I hate to just throw things away if they can be fixed. Just need some direction on what might go wrong while it is running and how to test it. I have heard about exciting the brushes but this machine was running and working so I don't believe that is the issue. Thanks for any help.
Reply:Save yourself the headache of trying to fix it, finding parts for lifan(which is Chinese harbor freight) will be troublesome to say the least.
Reply:Lifan engines are made in Thailand I think. Not sure where they get their generator assemblies. Can't be too complicated.
