Nothing exotic here gents, my sister had a couple of pieces of granite left from the cutouts for her outdoor kitchen. So with a bit of tubing and the wonders of King Architectural Metals here we go. Only trick was the legs had to be removable from shipping for West Coast to East. Let's hope the PO takes these crates, if not it's UPS. Cheers.

Reply:They're very well made and very well packed. Your sister should love them. No paint? Is she prepared to paint them and finish the assembly? My sister wouldn't be. I'd have to ship them fully painted and assembled. You might get a better shipping rate if you tried a trucking company, although UPS will likely be a faster delivery. I don't think USPS wants anything in wood crates, but I could be wrong. Reply:Charley--thanks, I too am not too sure about USPS taking a wood crate if they say no it's on to UPS. The tables will be powder coated. her hubby, while not too mechanical, ought to be able to screw in eight bolts.
Reply:I like those tables. Would def be too spendy to ship via usps, even if they do take them (and they wood, too, pun intended). I would go UPS or Fedex, or if the weight and size is prohibitive, a trucking company, as Charley suggested.-AaronJet 17.5" Drill Press1942 South Bend 16x84 Lathe1980s Miller 320A / BP --- 2013 Power Mig 2562012 Jet 7x12 Horizontal BandsawVictor O/A Setup
Reply:UPS will ship up to 150lbs. Im not sure of the maximum dimensions that they will ship but i think you be safe with those. You bight be able to save a little $$ if you put the boxes together when you ship them.
Reply:If they are going to be set anywhere other than a perfectly flat surface... they will have a few issues.I would have skipped the lower horizontal piece of square tube (between the legs) and if they are meant for outdoor use, make one leg adjustable.Other than that, they look great.Mikel |
