An instructor from my hvac school ask me for a favor.  He brought me this tank, that he wanted to use as a fuel tank for a oil burning A/C unit.  Problem is that the tank look like dog sh$t, and leaked in 9 different spots.  He honestly asked me how his welds looked, and I had to let him down easy.  I asked him "where's the goose?".  He said "what goose?", in which I replied "the welding goose that flew over, and sh$t all over that tank!".:PI started with two fresh refridgerant tanks, and cut the tops off them. This is the finished product. Here its mounted on the unit.
Reply:Wheres the goose?  Thats funny. That left over part looks like it would make a good parts washer dish or oil drain catcher. I dont know, maybee just throw it away. You got any plans for it?BTW hows the beer coming along?

Reply:That looks great. How do you just "cut the top of the tanks off" isn't there still pressure inside or is there a way to relieve it all?Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer

Reply:I have a lot of empty 30# drums, mostly just cut them up for scrap, but looking at your tank made me think of making pontoon for a floating dock, Good job!Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power.
Reply:Thank you buddy.
Reply:I'm sure you're okay, but for other readers reference, some refrigerant when burned gives off phosgene gas which can be deadly. So be careful.

Reply:I guess they don't burn much oil! I'd have to look up the numbers, but I think the 275 tank at my buddies house lasts about 6 weeks in the winter. You'd have to fuel that thing daily.I think you did an excellent job with this. very professional looking..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
