Hi All, Just a quick question that I can't seem to find the answer for online - which Victor torch handle are these tips for (picked them up at an auction)? They're all welding tips and have a size, X, and then T13 (eg, 1-T13). One has the size, 3, and then Type 13 (3-Type13). They are too small to fit on my 315 handle, but I'm not sure if they fit on a 100-series handle or the "J" handle.Thank you!Jon
Reply:What is the ID of the nut which holds the tips onto the handle? My J handle's threads measure .557", probably 9/16" whereas my 100's handle measures .622", probably 5/8".metalmagpie
Reply:I dug out my old Victor book. The 1-T-13 will fit your 100 series handle, while the 3-T-13 will fit your J series handle.
Reply:Thanks for the responses. What I'm finding online is that all the T-13 (type 13) tips are equivalent to the W-1 tips, which fit the 100 series handles. For the J series handles I'm seeing that the W-J equivalent is T-17 (type 17). These seems to make sense - the 1-T-13 and 3-T-13 tips have the same size base and nut.The site I found the info on eventually was: http://www.gossonline.com/site/Victor_Tips.phpThanks!Jon
Reply:I just picked up a couple of Victor tips from eBay for $36 shipped: a 3-W-1 & a 6-T13. Based on the above & on the Goss Web site it looks like the 6-T13 is equivalent to the 6-W-1 tip & will fit my FC100 handle. Maybe an old model number?I measured the ID of the nuts that holds the tips onto the handle & they were both about 0.577", but I used calipers I had handy so the measurement is pretty rough. Thanks for the info! |
