She corrected my Gringo Spanglish and said NITO (Neet O).......I decided to do Fe (Iron) and Al (Aluminum).......FeXAl.......... HA!!!!Aluminum base..... Steel Top with Steel letters........ I painted the top black so it would contrast against the aluminum.....Here is what I did today........ Reply:Here is how I mounted the steel top to the Aluminum base:Drill holes.. countersink....... and then fill in the holes and weld the nut in..... this is how I did it.....I'm sure there are more ways to skin this cat....... Reply:Looks good. I would have just drilled and tapped the steel pieces to the desired bolt size. Drill through both pieces at the same time to ensure alignment, then drill to bolt size the aluminum piece and countersink. Tapp the steel piece. Done!Anyway as I said, it looks good.Mikel |
