Reply:Not bad as long as it's used within it's practical limits. I think you will find the 20 cf cylinder you bought to go with it too small however..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:I had one of these before I upgraded. Unless you are doing some thick materials I think you will be very happy.

Reply:Great for 1/2" material and building trailers. Just kidding, these are great little machines if use as intended. 3/16 and under as stated above post.Tim Beeker.
Reply:I upgraded to mine from a campbell hausfield flux core only POS and improved my weld skills by a factor of 3 overnight. I then took a mig class and realized I still kind of suck, but at least I can tell good from bad now. The mig class had miller 251's. Talk about tool lust... but the 140 is fantastic for thin stuff, especially with .023 wire. For giggles I did some 1/4" plate and it is definitely beyond the capacity of the machine with gas. did not try flux core and 1/4".. Also for giggles i tried some pre-heat with my garagee oven and did 1/4" fine.. it is kind of pointless, but was curious if preheat helped like the guy doing aluminum stick welding found. In an emergency, or at someone elses house I could do some 1/4" if their wife would let me use the oven to preheat parts, but at home, use the right tool for the job.Good price btw!miller syncrowave 250hobart handler 140home made 400 amp engine driven in progress... |
