Hey folks, just thought I would drop a pic of the chicken coop pen I am building for my daughters FFA project.  We have a 2 hen coop to place inside after we wrap it in chicken wire.  A friend was throwing out some plexi-glas panels that he had on a greenhouse.  I'll build a simple roof frame from 2x2 wood and fashion a roof out of the plexi panels.  Made the pen from some old fence posts a friend was getting rid of.  I will post a pic of the finished project once we thaw out here in NC and I can get the chicken wire.  Last edited by AirborneMP; 02-13-2014 at 01:30 PM.

Reply:I'm interested in seeing the final product. I was just talking to a friend about what she wants for a pen. She's thinking of raising chickens this year to go along with the kids 4-H pigs..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:I have chickens too and the outside dog run panels work great, you can move them anywhere. If you build a coop, make it with wheels and a hitch and you and relocate anywhere. Mine is just 4'x8' and good for 6 to 8 birds.
Reply:Here's a shot of my four, 40' x 600' chicken houses.  All kidding aside, that's a good start you've got. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. Proverbs 4:23My company welds.

Reply:Believe it or not two chickens will turn their penned in area to dirt in a short time. Might want to consider setting the house outside of the pen and running the panels up to it. It will give them more outside open area. Nothing better then fresh eggs and bacon from your own critters. What breed you gonna get ? Are you getting day old chicks or ready to lay pullets ?  Good luck.
