How do I test to see if it's putting out the full 10000 wats?Miller trailblazer301gLincoln sa200Miller251Miller spectrum 625Victor oxy-acc2002 Chevy duramax 3500 dually 4x4
Reply:The reason I'm asking this is we had a power outage and I hooked it to my buck stove in my house. The plug I have on the heater has a green light in the plug. When hooked to the generator it turned red. Anybody have any ideas?Miller trailblazer301gLincoln sa200Miller251Miller spectrum 625Victor oxy-acc2002 Chevy duramax 3500 dually 4x4
Reply:Probably because you had the polarity reversed on one end of the extension cord you ran from the welder to the stove. MikeOl' Stonebreaker "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
Reply:That could be true. I used an old homemade cord I had when I built my house. Made from 12-2 wire.Miller trailblazer301gLincoln sa200Miller251Miller spectrum 625Victor oxy-acc2002 Chevy duramax 3500 dually 4x4
Reply:If the TB isn't seeing a load, it won't idle up and might not have been producing enough voltage to kick the light to green. Reply:Isn't 12/2 rated for 20 amps? That's like half the machines rated output at 240v. Could the problem be because of voltage drop from the small conductor size?Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG
Reply:We use blow dryers and a clamp on ammeter to load test campground hookup boxes. They are 1500 watts each, so about 12.5 amps each (amps X volts=watts). You would have to balance the load by loading each leg. I have a box of 20 or so of them to load all the circuits to stress them to their limits. You would only need 8 to get to 12,000 watts. The newer trailblazer should be 10,000 watts with a 12,000 watt surge. You should be able to find a sale on them.
Reply:Along with the load created by the blow dryers, measure voltage at load. Make sure it is able to stay up during the load.
Reply:I plugged in an ohm meter at full power and I'm getting 110 at each plug. 220 on the big plug. Should I test it while something is running from it? Reply:You should see what the voltage is when it is loaded close to max. As I said I use blow dryers, but there are many ways to load it.
Reply:Well a guy is gonna buy it tomorrow, got my eye on an airco 400 amp machine. That will fix my problem with the welding output and run my arc air torch.Miller trailblazer301gLincoln sa200Miller251Miller spectrum 625Victor oxy-acc2002 Chevy duramax 3500 dually 4x4 |
