I Searched/More info on Dual VS Single Flowmeters

I am looking for a flowmeter for my Dynasty & only want to buy it one time and one that will last/rebuild able if needed..just looking for more info on pro's and con's of Dual & single Flowmeters..thanxs for any help -PaulMiller 211 & Spoolmate 100Miller Diversion 165Miller Spectrum 875

Reply:I have a dual flowmeter. I think it's the Harris 356. Didn't like the plastic knobs on it, though. I had the machinist make a couple of nice knurled brass ones. Other than that it's fine. Another option that I use is a CGA 580 tee with 2 single flowmeters attached. With that set-up you can keep a flowmeter on your TIG rig and one on your MIG gun, and just pair them up when you need to purge.
Reply:Dual meters on a tee works nicely. I set them up that way at the school where I worked. One reg getting damaged doesn't take out both.
Reply:I have a dual flow regulator for my TIG. I use it for stainless all the time.  It uses a lot of gas however so charge appropriately.I also use it on aluminum fuel tanks for the race cars and streetrods..  It makes a better weld on the inside.  Again it can use a huge amount of gas.  I paid about $180 12 years ago from Tig Depot.I think it is well worth it.

It's got 3 scales so I sometimes find myself staring at it a little too long trying to figure out which scale is for argon. That's my only little annoyance with it. Oh and running the other flowmeter for purge puts a hurting on my little 125CF tank.
