But How Does He Unbolt the Channel?

Reply:So... just consider the 6 nuts (per channel) collateral damage of replacing the channel?

Reply:Ditto whats been said. Nuts and bolts are cheap AND, you can get it apart to fix it. If you don't like the design just bore a hole in one side to be able to get a wrench in there.

Reply:if you're going to be cutting/grinding stuff off to take it appart anyway why not grind out the welds? that way you're not having to cut, and drill another section of channel to weld to. you're just putting the new section of channel on and welding it on.There are no problems. Reply:If you think you will have to replace these channels that frequently you need to consider using heavier material or a different design.

Reply:A friend that has a welding business in another city, needed another table for a big rail job he got so he built one like this. He came to my shop to use my table to build his on as my top is 1" and very straight. We built the table upside down on my table. We sat all the channel on the table with 1" spacers, set 12"x19# I beams on top of the channel and tack welded the channel to the I beams. Then we welded 3 1/2" pipe to the I beams for legs. We picked it up with my lift and turned it over and he welded the channel to the I beam.  It came very straight and he has been using it for about 2 years now with no problems.
