2 questions:What waveforms do you Dynasty users generally use for AC on aluminum? I have mine on the factory default soft square wave, and I notice a more fluid puddle with less control and freezing than the standard wave on my TA185. This is with a 3/32 Lanthanated on .060 aluminum. Which wave do you guys prefer for different metals/thickness/joints etc. I know what the factory description is, and I was thinking of switching it to advance squarewave. Do you find that the same balance setting gives you less cleaning at higher frequencies? Maybe there is less time to "pop" the oxide coating off? I find I need to turn the en down a bit as the freq goes above 120 to get the same color bead with a similar etched zone. Oh, and I guess one more, what applications do you like the freq of 150-250 on? I can tele a huge arc difference from 20-150 Hz, but above that it just seems to scream and not do that much different than 150 does. Reply:I've used all waveforms except sine wave and my go to waveform is soft square wave. I usually run higher hertz when doing corner welds or working on small thin stuff. If I'm doing build up work my hertz go way down. Normal hertz is 85-100 for me.
Reply:Wave form?I usually use AC 60 Hz.Works great.

A miller dynasty has 4 different wave forms to choose from to tailor your ac arc to your application or to your preference. Also dynastys have adjustable ac frequency, 20-250 on dynasty 200's and something like 20-450 on the 350's and 700's.Your not stuck with 60 hertz's as with a transformer machine.

Reply:I tried all 4 waves. The SSW was the easiest around to use. The puddle was a little wide and fluid. The ASW was loud. It was the most like my TA was but louder. The puddle was narrower and froze quicker it seemed. It woke my daughter up, her room is above the garage. The TRI was just what was described from Miller. It was tougher to get a puddle going, but the puddle was just like the SSW. The SIN was awful for me. The line between blowing through pieces and getting a bead going was very narrow. Man, I give the guys like ZAP who are on traditional Sinewave machines alot of credit. The control was like apples and oranges.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum
Reply:Sine wave is touchy, square wave its just like a synchrowave or squarewave machine
Reply:After reading all the replies about wave forms and what guys use I think my Square wave machine is fine for what I'm doing especially since its paid for and I can buy more race stuff.....lol Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock
Reply:I think your just jealous BC because you haven't got that Dynasty 350 yet, lol. Btw you have a expensive addiction I see.I have a 120+ horse 2006 Electra glide I blast around on.Also building a 120" engine as we speak. I know all about your addiction!!!
