I've got two lift gates from commercial trucks. They are about 7' wide, and have large folding platforms. I don't have any vehicles that these would fit. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can make out of them? I was thinking of just using the cylinder, pump, and electronics. Maybe a log splitter, but I see issues with that. Any other suggestions. 12volt power allows for portability and flexibility. Thoughts?

Reply:Good call, Superarc!GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.

Reply:The pumps/cylinders would not be well suited for any kind of "near continuous" duty such as a log splitter. You would very quickly overheat the motor and hydraulics. These components are fairly well suited for use in applications such as a small crane boom or an engine hoist type apparatus.Hopefully you won't suffer much $ loss in selling them.
Reply:We have a dump flatbed pickup made with one
Reply:Gas company I used to use has them mounted to the building to raise and lower cylinders to exchange.
