Every welder on here whether they are visitors or tried & true members. There is weekend warriors, home hobbyist, part time, and full time welders on here. Reply:this place popped up for every sa-200 question I could think to ask! I have been enjoying Toyota forums for the last few years and figured I could enjoy and learn on this also.welding background is: shop fabber/welder from 18 to 22 years old. pipe fitter/ welder for the last three since then (same company). shop work was everything from heavy beam structures to 20ga stainless ductwork and some of the slickest air-handlers you would ever see. if rolls Royce made stainless air conditioners (the size of a small house), they would look like ours.pipe work is usually hvac related. steam, chilled water, hot water, gas. stainless and carbon. lots of funbosses stuff:trailblazer 325maxstar 200my stuff:sa 200fronius transpocket 180100 amp Lincoln w/f97 f350 DITKevin

Reply:Typical welding addict - where else would I find people to listen to me talk welding every day? Been welding on and off since late 80's early 90'sBetween mechanic and welding work over the years, both full time and side work, it's dragged me out of the red countless times. It still does.I enjoy welding - really dislike mechanic work...Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.

Reply:First forum I joined was HybridZ.com (Datsun Z car stuff). As the resto-rodding progressed, this place became the second. Then the addiction set in, different processes, lathes, mills, ZTfab and Zap's posts and a good laughs every now and then. Gave me a chance to pimp some of my projects and collect 1,000's of great ideas and tips.....and the years started ticking by.If you don't want to stand behind our Troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

Reply:If I remember correctly, back in 2007, my Lincoln AC/DC tombstone went fritz, or was it frizt?  Anyhow it quit welding one day and I joined up hoping someone would tell me exactly what was wrong with it.My hopes were shattered all over the place when everything I checked did not fix it.About 5 years later I found out what the trouble actually was (defective weld stinger cable) and came back to do a very delayed update about it and at that time I realized that this site has a great deal of experienced people hanging out who are willing to help.So I have decided to stay around and learn about stuff I will never be able to do in my job or hobby. And I like the humor too.

Reply:I originally joined the Miller forum, and thought it was OK. But then someone posted a link to a project on WW, and I checked it out. Several days of reading posts soon ensued. I started finding posts I wanted to comment on, but couldn't without being a member. So I joined up and haven't shut up about it yet. I know I have gotten at least one other convert from the Miller forum to join here. The Miller forum is like watching black and white TV with the rabbit ears antenna, and WW is like watching color TV on a satellite receiver feed. Some many more topics to look through. Way more activity here than the Miller site.
