Hi chaps, it's my first post. I happened upon this forum by chance and it is a big pity that I haven't come accross it earlier. I have a Messer Griesheim AC/DC 350A weilding machine that I had repaired. The TIG facility has given up the ghost once again. Is there any merit in having it repaired again? It was quite costly the previous time and did not last long. I think not but now dumping a machine like this?
Reply:Welcome, I once welded with a Messer, I think they stopped making welders more then 10 years ago, considering the costs of new 350A ac/dc machine I would def repair it--------------------------------------------------------------www.becmotors.nlyup, I quit welding.. joined welder anonymous
Reply:Hello. Best suggestion would be to start a separate thread in the Manufactures Product section under "Other Manufacturers" and see if anyone can help you trouble shoot the issue. There's a number of guys with some good experience refurbing and repairing units here. Lots of guys don't bother with the intro section. You will want to make sure you include as much info as possible, manufacturer, exact model name and number, serial number ( so they can look up the manual if need be), power input, and an exact description of what the issue/s are. "It doesn't work" doesn't tell anyone very much usually even if that's the case. If nothing else at least describe in detail exactly what was going on when it stopped working. Usually after a couple of days one of the guys will get back with some questions and some simple tests you can do to try and trouble shoot the issues..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Thanks for the replies and good advice. Will do that! |
