Hey guys do you have any easy ways to etch welds on steel to check penetration
Reply:Some use muriatic acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, naval jelly,...just about anything that will eat metal. Has to be polished very smooth to show etching. Might have to use some heat on the weld to speed up etching.Search the forum, there's is quite a bit of info on etching. I posted a similar question a while back and got some good info...you'll just have to dig it out. |
