Ok....well not exactly mine, it's your's too, paid for by your hard earned tax dollars.  We use it to move Nuclear Reactor components from dismantled submarines (core removed).  The photo's below shows the compartment from the USS Los Angeles about to be offloaded to the trailer and hauled about 30 miles at less than 5 mph.  A buddy of mine unfortunately got stuff behind it when it was returning after an offload.  The Facility is called Hanford, the US's primary plutonium manufacturing facility and part of the Manhattan Project for the A-Bomb.  Got a bigger one?
Reply:If its partly "mine", Im gonna need to borrow it to move my buddy's couch. I wonder who I talk to about this? [Account Abandoned 8/8/16 Please Do Not Attempt Contact Or Expect A Reply]. See you on YouTube! -ChuckE2009

Reply:I don't see a trailer, or anything that looks like a trailer. BTW who has to check all the tire pressures on that whatchamacallit. Reply:Hey, does pep boys still do free tire checks/air...When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, "This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know," the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives.
Reply:Those tires look a little bigger than the ones on my truck.  Anybody know how many pounds each one is rated for?  Just curious.
Reply:If you have to ask, then you can't afford them. I could retire after doing a bearing pack and brake job on that rig!  We had a class A motorhome come through one time with custom rear wheels and tires. The guy said he spent $6,000.oo on single rear aluminum wheels and matching tires. Attached ImagesCity of L.A. Reply:The gizmo they used to haul rockets to the launchpad on at Cape Kennedy was pretty big, Cant remember if it was self propelled or if it was pulled. Saw it when I was a kid. Impressed the heck outta me.I'll bet the Russians got something big as or bigger. They seem to like big, they dont seem to care if it works, just that its big
Reply:I'd buy that for a dollar!...although the neighbors might look at me funny...having a trailer that takes up the entire street...and their lawns and all...

Reply:528  445/50/R22.5 tires? Who wants to venture a guess as to how much that would cost to replace all of them?? (You'd probly get free mounting and balancing with that many tires) http://www.philswelding.com
Reply:The pulling units look like something the old Oshkosh, or FWD, companies used to make.  They were some real heavy duty trucks."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:Units look to be lampson blue.    they are a pretty large outfit for massive heavy lifting and transport in the pacific north west.Parts of hanford are a super fund sight with the cost of remediation exceeding the costs of building by ten fold.the 8 wheel horrible harv unit seems to be a skid steer setup.    Not enough room between the tire side wall and frame to allow for any turning of the tire.   The problem with using the submarines for cheep effective power generation is security and safety.   It would be a security nightmare to try and deploy these in med draft ports around the country and keep them safe from people wanting to do harm to the USA.    Also the Navy nuclear vessels lack the complete and total failsafe and redundant design of modern stationary nuclear reactors.when they are towed to bremmerton for decommissioning the contractor that provides the barges and roll offs for scrap has to go through a very extensive vetting process (after they win the job by auction bid) and provide barges and have a site for witnessed mutilation of scrap materials by a government Representative. As far as the tires on the motor home go those are just Michelin X1 super single tires.      They are EPA smart way compliant drive tires.     They replace a set of duals and save about 400lbs per axle.     Personally i think they are overpriced for the ROI they give and i like the security of having two tires to carry a load.   If one goes flat you can limp to service on the other one.    If the super single goes boom your on a white knuckle rim riding thrill ride.   $4500 sounds about right for the costs of the wheels and tires when you traded in a set of 4 good Alcoa dual wheels for the super singles.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.

Reply:Did the ballasting for the load-out of the Piper Bravo in Newcastle back in ehm.... about 1991. My first job, my first loadout and biggest platform trailer loadout ever, about 10.000 MT and 3200 wheels on 10 rows of coupled platform trailers by Mammoet and Econofreight on the H110 Heerema Barge. Allmost no space for the temporaty ballasting pipework, pumps and valves between the skids and trailers.Biggest after that one was the Goodwyn "A" jacket, 17.000MT but that was a skidded loadout, no trailers, only teflon, slippery stuff and hydraulic jacks, so that doesn't count.Last edited by ElGuapo; 09-24-2012 at 03:57 PM.
