Help me identify this equipment?

Hey all. I haven't had the chance to check this out in person (40 mi drive), but i talked to the lady, and she didn't know much about it (her hubby passed away recently).Could you help me identify what sort of torches and equipment this is, and if you think its a good deal?http://sierravista.craigslist.org/tls/2867716972.html
Reply:It's either a Victor or Victor knock-off, and appears to be medium-duty.  At least one of the handles doesn't have flash arrestors built-in, but the other might (pic angle is bad).  I thought I could faintly read "Harris" on the oxygen regulator - if so, that's a fine regulator.You will want to check the tanks for raised lettering on the threaded ring - usually lettered tanks are rentals although some are out as owner's tanks.  You will want to see receipts saying they are owner tanks.  If the tanks are a question at all as to ownership, assume you're buying a torch cart ($30 used), two handles and a cutting attachment (worth maybe $100 if they're Victor, maybe $30 if they're Victor clones), decent Harris regulators ($70 used), and some welding tips (maybe $30-$40 if Victor, worthless if other).  If the regulators aren't name-brand, they're worth $20 for the set if you feel like taking the chance.In other words, it's a bad deal unless you're positive that:1) They are owned tanks and not rental tanks, and 2) Your local welding supplier will deal with privately-owned tanks of that size.  Mine won't touch anything privately owned over 80 cf in size.  It's been so long since I saw an 80 cf tank, I can't tell you how big those are with any certainty.If your supplier will fill tanks that size that are privately owned, and that's a genuine Victor torch and not a knock-off Chinese torch, it's a good deal.Last edited by tbone550; 02-24-2012 at 12:20 PM.
