Reply:Zap, how do you get that stack 'n dime look with no filler? And while we're at it, how do you calculate your shrink fits? ( Wanted to ask you for a long time )Your work is amazing; source of inspiration for me:-)Cheers, Peterwww.petermoll.nl
Reply:Very very nice! Question were you using a large gas lens? The reason I ask is because I was looking at a youtube video on how different caps gives a stainless steel it's unique color.

Reply:That is welding porn! NICE!
Reply:Looks good but do I see a wee bit of undercut? Tilt the positioner some so you're welding a little more in the flat position, or use larger rod/more filler.Welding/Fab Pics: www.UtahWeld.com
Reply:Very nice.
Reply:Looks nice, but does your boss realize how much time you waste with that tiny filler? One $300.00 roll of dualsheild wire and that weld would take less than two minutes.
Reply:Shrink fit and a weld, where is that gonna go? No where, that's where.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."

Reply:OK here is what they look like after fighting with stainless chips...I did not want to hold them by the outside threaded area so out comes the small 3 jaw and using that I held them by the inside..Then indicated the steady rest spot that was already there in as best I could..Chuck in chuck..Turning angle..(45 Degrees)45 Degree angle..when the angle meets the tube all I needed to do was get it to clean for about an inch after that and don't worry about the finish diameter..There will be a home made rope seal that will go there..Here is the backside..The tube has to finish 4.353 + .003 - .002 and make the back square to the tube..After that it's done..Here is the old and the new..Easy enough right?I get all the fun jobs.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Originally Posted by zapsterNo filler..Go around in really small circles as the positioner turns..Shrink fit basic rule of thumb is add .001 per inch of bore..5" bore = .005 shrink.. But sometimes I push it up by a couple of thousandths..
