Reply:Picts are a bit blurry to make out fine detail. As far as critiques to improve, it looks like the dips are a bit wide to me. That gives you that irregular edge on the side. Dipping more frequently and a bit more consistent control, it's possible to eliminate the majority of that irregularity on the edge and have a nice even line that won't need much if any final work. Fill looks a bit low possibly. Might just be an optical illusion and the poor pict in #1. Heat looks decent and color looks good. All of this is minor and probably nit picking. I tend to be fairly picky with things like this from working with students. Chances are it's more than good enough to get the job done. I'm looking at it from the perspective of what things could be improved on to make what looks like a good weld even better..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:thanks Mondo, and DSW. sorry for the pics being blurry, the camera was even on macro. I will have to try and work on my consistency . as for that short section in the first pic that looks low, it is. I didn't weld it on a positioner, and I was running out of dexterity to keep moving and dipping as I was reaching .
