Does any one know if there is a way to use the Miller HF 251 with either a foot pedal or a roller switch? My Shopmaster has the switch for variable amperage and the 14 pin plug. It is also CV/CC.
Reply:Yep. The 251 does have a remote plug on the front. Then another 14 pin cable goin from the 251 to the machine. Set machine to remote and you're gtg. Ran this a few months ago in Stanland.NickESAB CaddyTig 2200iPowermax 45MM140 (Sold)
Reply:What Snuffy said Bob.  The HF-250D-1 is a perfect match for your Shopmaster.  Too bad I just sold the spare one I had for sale here.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:I've been waiting on you Duane. Not that I don't trust Snuffy but that I know you are the Miller man. Mine is the 251D-1. Will that still work?
Reply:My apologies!  I mistyped. Should have said "251" which my spare was and is equipped with the 14-pin control cables that you need.  I have NO idea why I typed 250 which is the former unit that had 5-pin control cables.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:Thanks Snuffy and thanks Duane.

Reply:Thanks 7A749. Being in business over 30 years and all my stuff getting older, it makes me feel a whole lot better about making it last until I don't want to do this any more, that you guys are on here to help out.

If you had a 14 pin remote, you can easily make a patch cable to connect it too. Being you do not have any remote capability, you'll just have to live with one amperage setting

Reply:The gin poles always get a lot of interest on job sites that there is no equipment for lifting. I use it a lot as I get older and weaker. I've made a lot of money off it here and there. I don't understand why more weldors don't have one.I was lucky to get good advise way back when I bought it new. I picked up a used S52 feeder unit just a few months after and that has been my main shop equipment all these years. I'm 64 years old now and just added another 30' x 25' to the shop. My wife thinks I've lost my mind. I'm letting a young weldor use half my shop for a few months until he can find some thing he can afford. He is stronger than me, welds better than me and tells me constantly that I don't charge enough. He's liking it so much I may just rent it to him.

Reply:Depends on how expensive and how much it would cost to get it to Houston...GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
