My old syncrowave 180sd had a major malfunction, and I thought her time has come. With some help from the guys here and my LWS, she has a new lease on life, and I actually cleaned her all up and she looks brandie new again. So I decided to treat her to a new set of wheels. Just started on it today, and have some bigger obligations, so i'll pick and poke at it and hopefully it'll get done soon enough. Couple pics of the first stage. Reply:Squeezed in a half hour tonight, got the uprights capped off, and a little more finish work. I decided not to paint it and just clear it like it is. Taking my time, and have a few more ideas, gonna add some rivets to it ithink. Plus some other time consuming add ons. Reply:That finish and quality look really good, especially for mild steel! Why did you leave a gap in your bottle retaining ring, and why not hide it against your tube?Curious how you will integrate cable storage, it looks really slick.Constant Current Weldor.

Reply:Funny stuff Mick! I actually ordered 2 different style rivets, and have about 200 left over. Figures I chose to like the ones I thought I would'nt.Last edited by weldermike; 10-20-2012 at 05:47 AM.I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys

Theres some boners in there to be honest, but just a cart that I got carried away with b/c I was happy to save a old machine!

Reply:Played around a little more while i'm waiting on more rivets to come in the mail. Priority mail from texas, a week and a half already Anyway I felt like playing in my free time and made this copper strap for the cabinet. The copper is .021 thick and I used some #6 solid electical wire as a filler, that was all I had laying around, probably around 3/32, not a good combo but made it work. Anyone here ever tig copper that thin, Yowza, i'm glad I pulled it off, but after all the blend work and polishing, I actually think it looks to busy. I should have took a pic with the cabinet and the strap sitting there, but forgot, and my time was limited. I think I may use the steel strap I have made a while ago, but here's a pic of the copper one! Attached ImagesI hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Reply:Any opinions on the strap guys, steel vs. copper. I'm bored so fiured I would ask your opinions. I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys

Reply:amazing looking work Mike. Beautiful looking hardware on the cabinet, can you tell us a little more about it? Also did you do all the finishing by hand with an agle grinder or was it all done on a wheel/belt sander?again, stellar work man. I love the angled uprights as well.

Reply:How does the copper piece fit around the cabinet? I'm not sure how it goes together and I'm trying to visualize it. I still think the cabinet looks awesome.
