My wife picked up a small stand a while back and asked me to make a coat rack out of it. Here is what I came up with, any comments/thoughts welcome: Attached ImagesMIG and Plasma
Reply:Interesting idea, but I wonder how functional those scrolls are for holding the coats. I'm not sure I'd have gone with flat bar. Maybe 1/4" or 3/8" square stock would have been a better choice, and I wonder if the "hooks" shouldn't have been farther out from the post.I do like the idea of the re-purposed table. I can think of several things that idea might be useful with..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:I like it. I think the flat bar is alright, however add some smooth surface to prevent form tearing the coats. What did you use to weld the cast to steel? I have a cast table base, I have was considering a coat rack, then I acquired a table top.
Reply:I think it looks great.
