i have recently picked up a tig. my first major project is a sissybar for a bike(motorcycle) im building. ive got some undercut spots on the weld. i welded 2 1/2" pieces of round stock together to get some ornamentation to the piece. will undercutting weaken the weld? will making another pass fix the issue or is it scrap?

Reply:A sissybar goes behind the seat so the passenger has something to lean back on while holding on for dear life...Not something for a novice to be making.If you can fill in the undercut then it should be OK but having no undercut the first time is the goal here......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
