Finishing my intro class, want to work!!

Hey guys,My intro class is ending in May and the school does not offer summer welding classes.  I don't want to take such a long break.  I don't have any connections to people that own shops that I could practice in, I also am not in a position to buy a welder right now.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do with from here?  I am in the Sacramento area.  Thank you!!
Reply:hit all the fab shops that are local to you. who knows you may get lucky. in between smearing red lead and standing in front of the buffalo punching holes you may get to do some welding but meanwhile if you keep your eye's open you can learn a lot.i.u.o.e. # 15queens, ny and sunny fla
