i just started a mobile welding business and i am thinking about purchacing a lincoln ranger 250GXT. i need some input on it or if i should go another way. so all you lincoln people out there let me know ur input. thx
Reply:GXT has AC. Ranger does not.Ranger has chopper technology. GXT does not.Ranger is an awesome Stick or Mig machine. GXT is good too. They are different. What do you need? Is 250 amp enough? I have a Ranger 250 and its perffect for me. I can think of one time in 6 years I would have used something bigger.Ranger has arc force adjustment for stick as in crisp and smooth. It also has puddle control for Mig. Ranger will tig as good as any machine with touch start. DC only.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I run the gxt for field work with a ln25 and I like both. 2 years old, 900 hours and never missed a beat. Seems to be more than enough power.
Reply:I have been looking into these as well. Been thinking about selling my PT 225 and buying a GXT, mainly so I will have a generator if needed. The main hangup I have with the GXT is that even though it has A/C, you still have to buy the HF module, which from what I understand, is about a $1K+ part. Not to mention a pedal, torch, etc. |
