Well here is my quick story.I come from a family of Norwegian welders... aunt, grandfather, sister, brother, cousins all welded (some better than others...you get my point) I started welding at 13 got my certs at 18 and started welding as a career... I quit to pursue music at 20. 1990 I notice welding was dying where I was living..however I always kept an eye on the industry ...I even volunteered welding trolleys in between my music career! I was very successful in the music industry!! I had three instruction stores was on CNN been in the local papers and television countless times...I partied in Hollywood with all my favorite musicians I had grown up listening too...life was great until...YOUTUBE!!!!!So here I am... biz is sold...43 and going back to welding. I have a small shop ( mobile welder and tools) and thinking about starting small doing metal art and small jobs which I enjoy....maybe going back to certify....However (with all respect) some of the post I read seem a little disappointing and now I am reluctant to pursue...is welding coming back? I am reading both pro's and con's in the industry .... My dauhters thinks welding is cooler than being in the music industry!....and honestly I do feel like I got my ba**'s back since been welding again!any suggestions? ideas? good or bad will be appreciatedThanks in advance!
Reply:I can't really answer your question. But Does welding make you happy and do you enjoy life while you are doing it?Can you make a living for you and your family? If the answer is yes ? It will probably be be difficult to change and only you can decide. Good luck in what you decide. |
