Installed some railings today to replace the outdated Newell post and spindles. Homeowner wanted a modern commercial look. The new railings really opened up the room. Attached Images

Reply:Very nice! I notice an overlap dealio going on that holds the horozontal pieces, how does that work. Also what material did you use?  3/8 rod? The rail looks like 3/4 by 1 1/2? Reply:Thanks for the compliments guys.dbales: materials cost were about $300.00 labour was whatever you value 40 hours at.DanD78: Yeah it could be a ladder for rugrats, but the kids in this family are teenagers, not a big concern here.Elliot May: The overlap dealio is 1/4" by 2" flatbars welded to the 1/2" roundbar from the back to hide the welds.  First flat bar is easy to do, second one is a little challenging to poke a mig gun into to weld. Top rail is 1" by 2" rectangular tube.-Dan
