I saw what Reebs made awhile back:http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...ight=drag+raceAnywho I took my daughter to the childrens museum with her little cousin and they had a blast playing with the toy cars going down the track. I would love to build something like this. Should I use "C" channel and bend it? Or should I use large diameter tube and cut it in half? Needs to be child proof, no sharp edges or anything. Haven't gotten into bending any metal so it will be a nice learning curve which I'm excited to learn..as well as have another tool Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:I'd probably use some .065 wall square tube. Maybe easier to bend than the channel? Tube would give you some fun cutting time too. When you cut the tube in half, cut on a side adjascent to the seam, so it doesn't interfere with yer racin'!-AaronJet 17.5" Drill Press1942 South Bend 16x84 Lathe1980s Miller 320A / BP --- 2013 Power Mig 2562012 Jet 7x12 Horizontal BandsawVictor O/A Setup |
