Ive read MULTIPLE posts about people's Dynasty's not functioning well in tig mode after using the machine to stick weld. Has anyone here had any issues with theirs?I know the machine looks like a toy but is industrial tough and designed to be used for tig and stick, but after reading a few of these posts, I'm a bit afraid of damaging my machine. After all, I can get a machine to do DC stick for under $200, but fixing any component on the Dynasty is likely to be north of a grand. Just looking for some reassurance.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum
Reply:I know several people who firmly believe Dynasty should never be used on the stick mode. I've had my Dynasty for about seven years, and I use to switch back and forth all the time with no issues at all. Now I just leave it in Tig mode. I never was impressed with the quality of arc in the stick mode anyway. Now Tig on aluminum, only way to go! Reply:I use mine on stick all the time with no problems.I wouldn't expect the power supply to be behaving much differently when in stick mode. They are both constant current. Stick mode is probably just turning off the HF and gas solenoid.Dynasty200DX w/coolmate1MM210MM VintageESAB miniarc161ltsLincoln AC225Victor O/A, Smith AW1ACutmaster 81IR 2475N7.5FPRage3Jancy USA1019" SBAEAD-200LE

Reply:I cant understand that a machine that is designed for tig and stick would hurt the machine when run in stick mode. Sounds like someone doesnt know what their talking about. I used the same dynasty 200 dx in the shipyards almost everyday for 3 years on both tig and stick, and I havent noticed any difference in the tig mode on both ac and dc. All a bunch of redneck rumors, dont believe it!! |
