Reply:Nice, I like the design. Are those wheels from harbor frieght ??? I bought some and they can'tbe beat for the money. The elevated part needs a seat cushion. now you can rest after you start it. You gonna add extension cord holders ?

Reply:Nice. The only down side to this I see is storage. You might think about redesigning the handle. A folding design like is used on most lawnmowers ( simply wait until spring, then nab one off a dead mower when someone tosses one at the beginning of the season) or simply one that you can detach for storage might be a better option. I like to keep my generator under a shelf in the shop so it doesn't take up valuable floor space since I seldom need to use it on a regular basis. Your cart looks like it would be perfect for that except for the handle issue..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Nice build. I like the turning wheel. I been trying to think of a compact cart for my generator.Curious, why you used a solid sheet under the generator?

Reply:1. The garage doors, hmmm guess i never noticed! Maybe so the critters can get out of the cold2. The sheet steel pan for the generator: a. i had it sitting around and.... b. i wanted the cart to be used for moving the generator and holding it when its in use. But i wanted the cart to be available for hauling stuff around the yard too, so it is not a dedicated cart specifically but can be used for anything. The finished product will be painted and might have a place for cords, but if all goes to plan I never have to use the dang thing in the first place!3. I thought of the handle issue and there is no question you are right there, i may put a hinge mechanism on it so it can be folded down for storage or have the entire handle system be removable with a reciever type collar at the bottom of each member with heavy pin / lynch pin setup like the draw tite trailer recievers. Reply:I'm sure a PTO pin will work fine as your retainer pins if you do it that way. thats what I'd use at least. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger |
