Hello, I'm new to this forum and I have a few questions about this test. I'm going to be testing for a local gas company soon and I've been practicing for it. Basically, I have 2", 6", 12" butt tests and then a 12" branch. The guy I've been talking to in the company did me a solid and got me the procedures for those tests. I've done two branch tests at school with my teachers rig and he showed me a few pointers about layout and fit up. I also made templates on Auto CAD for 1/4" and 3/8" wall for the Tee.The test calls for 1/4", but I can't find it anywhere; so I got some 3/8s. My first question is has anyone ever putting a branch at a 45 and then welding it? I've only done it with the Tee facing the ground. Another thing is from what the pictures on the procedure are showing; I would have to bevel the entire Tee... never done it that way either. I was taught to only bevel the throat and gradually go to a square cut as you approach the ears. I've ran three branches so far and I'm trying to learn patience, but that's taking a while haha. I'm learning that I need to take more time for fit up... I'm getting some hellacious gaps. I've read a few other threads on branch tests and I've got a few clues as to what I've been doing wrong. Any input and advice would be appreciated, thanks!I'm running a vantage 300 and I've been using 6010 5p+ 8's and 5's
