Sign Structure

This ia few pics of job i been doing on nights.Hiway sign structure bridge mounted.All 4"x4" angle and 1/4"plate all galvinized.This is the first of 2 i got to do.The other crew assemble the sign and mounts it.I,m there to weld and drill out the girder.The tall vertical t steel i weld in,then we hang it mark the girder and drill/bolt.Then last we clamp on all cross bracing connecting the 3  brackets to form 1 and weld it up. Reply:Just curious why not just assemble it and hang it in one piece mark, drill and install?Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.

Reply:Yowzer.  Now that is real welding.  Long ways from my little playing around stuff.  One of the reasons I would never call myself a welder...(Retired) Professional firefighter, amateur everything else I try to do...Oh yeah:  Go Big Red!   (You know: one of the 12 members of the Big 10 cuz we left the 10 members of the Big 12...)

Reply:Few more pics .The sparks are from a guy up above with a deck saw cutting the anchor bolts from the old structure were demo,n down.We are now done on this overpass heading to the next one tonight 3 to put up there also.The last pic shows the 2 shop fabricated brackets on the girder.Then we add x bracing top and bottom,out of 4"x4"angle iron all galvinized steel 2 up top 2 on bottom.Middle pic showing the lift with my mag drill in basket and  crane truck.
