Ideas on what this licoln sa 200 is worth?

Hey guys im new here and looking for advice. I found a sa 200 that the guy says belongs to his sons friend and that he will sell and im just waiting for an answer on price. It is a 1968 or 1969 model and was told that a year ago when they last used it that it ran and welded great. It seems like it is in pretty good shape missing one of the side panels and i doubt that it will come with any leads. just looking for everybodys opinion. Thank You

Reply:Unless it was running and working, it would have to be cheap. "A year ago" when it last ran, could be longer, people tend to 'forget' how quickly time passes.

Reply:License plate on the Ford looks like Wisconsin? If so, luckily you aren't in the Texas type market area.  Let us know how you do on it.

Reply:That machine looks like its in damn good condition for just sitting outside. Before you do anything buy some cheap lead and see if it starts and then try to weld with it. Being it's a red face it should weld no problem as the shunt coils were all copper wound. Barring no issues with the generator or engine, being it's in ND right now and there is a HUGE oilfield boom going on out there it's probably not going to go for cheap unless the owner just wants rid of it or doesn't know what he has. There was an 85 Y/O local guy here last summer who had a beat to hell 68 red face for sale, ran and welded. He was asking $4200. Wouldn't budge. His reasoning for his price was it ran and welded and there is a high demand for them here (big oilfield boom here too). Whether he got it or not, I haven't a clue. If you can get that machine (in running and welding condition) for under $2500 that's a steal as you could easily sell it for close to double that in ND to a rig welder looking for a backup machine or someone trying to rig out.  JMO of course.1973 Lincoln SA 200, Already replaced shunt coils, Idle board (SOLD)1984 Miller Dialarc 250HF, Miller water cooler, 250 AMP water cooled torch, you know the worx.
