this is a project i did a while ago. we needed a place to securely store our building materials . the area is 60 ft. by 20 ft. there were lots of electrical conduits of varying sizes and a few light fixtures that had to be taken into consideration. the first thing i did was to box in the existing columns with 2x2 x1/4 angle iron and 2x1/4 flat bars. i then built in my shop 4x8 ft. expanded metal panels using 1 1/2 angle iron. to anchor the top of the panels i made hangers of flat stock and ran them along a ceiling beam using double expansion anchors. anchoring the bottom are flat lugs with a plain 5/8th rod drilled into the floor. the hardest part was filling in the spaces around the utilities with varying size exp. metal panels. Reply:i attached the top of the expanded metal panels to the top by running an angle along a ceiling beam welded to 3 sided hangar brackets like this. sorry for the bad pics. Attached Imagesi.u.o.e. # 15queens, ny and sunny fla
Reply:Why didn't you bend the top hangers instead of welding them?The main thing is not to panic or get excited Bobcat 250, X-Treme 12VS,  MM211Meltabo, Milwaukee,Porter Cable,Dewalt,MakitaVictor O/A, Ingersoll-RandEvolution Rage2, 40 amp PlasmaLincoln 225 AC/DC
Reply:i didn't think of it but now that i am i would have had to use the torch and wouldn't have gotten square inside corners for a close fit. we only have a sheet metal brake.i.u.o.e. # 15queens, ny and sunny fla
