where can I find weldable hinge like the one in the photo? i think they are calledWeld-On Lift-Off Hingesthe studded aluminum panel's hinge can be removed by simply lifing upwards.i found these but they are quite different looking though they are similarhttp://www.mcmaster.com/#weld-on-hinges/=ksgkaohttp://www.mcmaster.com/#weld-on-hinges/=ksgl8nthanks for any helpthe reason I like the hinge in the photo is it is rather big so it si easy to attatch a big bulky 2x4' door using these hinges. The hinges from mcmaster have tigher tolerances and they are not as "user friendly" I'm thinking any lift off hinge with around a 1/4 to 1/2 diameter pin would work.Last edited by AluminumWelder; 12-28-2012 at 12:17 PM.
Reply:Google is amazing. Welding Web is not google. Alternately, the design in your photo looks extremely easy to make. You should try.Lincoln Precision Tig 185Lincoln Power Mig 256Hypertherm PM 45Everlast 140STSmith O/A
Reply:the labor to make such a hinge would obviously far out cost what it would be to buy it. and I did google it without luck.

Reply:Prefer aluminum, but will take steel if that is all that is available. If I get AL I can weld it. If I get steel I'll have to bolt it.
Reply:I'm sorry... but what you have pictured is very easy to make... unless you were to buy a large amount of them at once, but then you still have added expense of shipping... Reply:@power & @comp chasis. thanks for the help. the issue with those things is they require pretty precise alighnment. I'll probably just get some and drill them out a bit so they are more user friendly. Taking 1/2 hr to make a $5 hinge as others have suggested is not really economical. Besides I don't have the machine/tools to cut out a nice round edge like the original photo shows.

Reply:Those look  like hinges the people who build those photobooths  came up with for there booths and probably made in house or had a large amount made for them since your trying to copy them you'll probably have to do the same350P 30A spool gun cut master 51  syncro 250 other stuff " take a dog off the street and make him prosper and he will not bite you sad the same cannot be said for man" i didnt use punctuation just to piss you off
Reply:Nope not copying the design and I'm coming up with something better.  the main structure is OK, but the electronics, especially how they have a printer rigged up is just a bad design. Ordered 4 different Mcmastercarr.com hinges. Nice thing is they ship out of Atlanta which is one day shipping via UPS to me.  I would be interested in learning how they made those hinges though? Were they stamped out by a stamping company with a metal die and then bent? Were they cut by hand individually. the round part looks very uniform, so I'm guessing a stamping company, but I'm not much of a machinest, so there's probably something I'm missing.Last edited by AluminumWelder; 12-30-2012 at 03:49 PM.
