Reply:I use sodium nitrite and physan 20.The sodium nitrite is a corrosion inhibitor. I use about 1/2 lb. to treat ~170 gallons of water. Not to be confused with sodium nitrAte.Physan 20 is a bactericide/viriicide/algaecide/fungicide (kill everything juice) usually used in fountains and such. Reply:northerntool.com sells a 5 gallon bucket of rust preventative solution I wipe my welding table down with it. it is water based and has no oils.
