I picked up the lincoln 225S welder on new years day, off of kyclassifieds.com.I got the welder, 30 lbs of 6011 1/8" rods and a helmet in the deal. I since have tore it down and cleaned, greased, painted, and replaced what I could. Here are several pictures of the before, during , and after of my labor. I have new longer leads, but it would not let me load it for some reason. Questions and comments welcome. Reply:My first question would be, did it work before you torn it down? That looks about as basis as it gets. Power to the switch, switch to transformer, transformer to leads. Ground hooked up? Get you tester out, it can't be hard to find the problem.

Reply:thanks everyone, just shows that hard work does pay off. As for the welder welding good. It sure would weld better with someone else welding with it. As for me im getting better and it seems to be stronger than the day i got it. Am very pleased with all of it so far. Here is a picture of it with the leads and a temp cart. New cart coming soon. Reply:That"s a real nice job.I especiall like the jacks on the cables. I used to do that kind of stuff but i'm done with toys now. It's been my experience though that if you do these types of jobe for yourself it's great but if your doing it for a greater resell price it will frequntly not pay off. Guys like stuff shiny but want to pay like its been sittin out behind the woodshed for 10 years prices. Have fun with it and keep up the good work.Miller thunderbolt 250Decastar 135ERecovering tool-o-holic ESAB OAI have been interested or involved in Electrical, Fire Alarm, Auto, Marine, Welding, Electronics ETC to name a just a few. Reply:Thanks, yea around here they are the same way. People dont want to pay quality price for quality work, the want the work with 50 cent price tag. This welder was purchased for me to use, so resale shouldnt be an issue. After a weeks work not real sure i would part with it, but money and idiots do tend to want what they want...JobSmart MIG125Lincoln AC225-SLincoln Pro-Mig 175Dewalt GrindersRidgid ChopsawIR Garage Mate CompressorAny thing worth doing, is worth doing right. |
