Can someone explain to me the origins of the naming convention used on GTAW torches? My water cooled Lincoln torch is a PTW-20 and is rated at 250amps 100% duty cycle. The larger water cooled torch is a PTW-18 and is rated at 350amps at 100% duty cycle.I am assuming that the Precision Tig was used as the prefix PT and the Water was the W = PTW. I made that assumption as the air cooled torches are PTA 9, 17 and 26.So, discarding the prefix of PTW and PTA, what the heck is 9,17,26, 20 and 18? Why not use an amperage rating at 100% duty cycle? As in PTW-250or PTW-350or PTA-125 ??????I have always wondered this and here I am 20 years later and finally am asking.Sorry if you are  by this part of the post.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v  Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
