Are gas prices really all over the place when looking at different vendors?I pretty much expected prices to be about the same wherever I went.Matheson- 150 ft^3 bottle - $265 + $86 fill.Airgas- 80 ft^3 bottle. $206 filled, but have to have an account. Would have to lease anything larger.Local mom and pop- 138 ft^3 $200 + $40 fill.I'm not too familiar with the bottle sizes, but the mom and pop place seems to blow everyone else out of the water. Once I have a bottle, they exchange the empty bottle on the spot for the price of a fill.Glad I didn't pick up the first bottle of gas I found.
Reply:Prices vary from vendor to vendor and location to location. You'd think the larger cities would be cheapest, but that's not always the case. Prices seem to be down in Houston, I filled a 122 Ar for $28 last week, and 6 months ago it was $39. Filled a 122 O2 and #3Acetylene today for $52 out the door and was quoted $100 last year. Same dealer. |
