Are these used to insulate the end of a mig gun, so the tip is not hot, when using flux core?"Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:Those insulators are used with some of the 'higher-amp' Tweco guns.  Not just for FCAW.Two-piece nozzle, with the insulator portion 'closest' to the diffuser and then the 'nozzle' portion screws into the insulator.  Listed in the current catalog for the 450-amp guns. Those 34CT insulators would be used with a 24CT nozzle.  The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
Reply:Those parts direct the flow of the shielding gas. If your running flux core without a shielding gas there is no a big need to have those installed............... I know, personal preference. Some do, some don't.Lincoln SA200's... at least 15 - 20. They come and go. Growing partial to the "Short Hoods" in my old age. Last count on Short Hoods was 13 in possession.

Reply:Those look like nozzle bases that accept interchangable ends for variable nozzle sizes.  (I've used them, but I'm lacking the words to describe them!   )*edit*  YEAH!  What MoonRise said...above...Apparently I can't read either!
