Greetings: We are in the process of purchasing an iron worker. We've narrowed the choices down to a Brobo and a Scotchman. Both are appox. 90ton. Anyone have any experience with either of these machines? Already have a Brobo cold saw, excellent machine. Don't have any experience with an IW.Thanks.
Reply:Sctochmans tend to be cheaper. I don't like them myself. If you ae insanely rich you buy a Peddinghaus from Germany. I really like the Pirahna brand. It is a good compromise. The hold downs are the best using UHMW plastic block that is indestructable and hold close to the shear blade. Their punch stripper is also well designed. I can't seem to find a Pirahna websitehttp://www.peddinghaus.com/Peddingha...teelworker.htm
