Well I was all set to buy a Thermal Arc 185TSW. I've been eye balling them for weeks for about $1650 shipped. I know the Miller 200DX is a better machine, but the $2900 price tag was kind of too steep for a beginning welder. However today I was looking on Ebay and found a like new 200DX with less than an hour on it, under a year old for $2200 with the contractors kit. $2240 shipped I picked up a very nice welder. So while it's a bit more than the TA 185TSW, I think it will be worth it in the end. I'll have this welder for years and the one big positive for me was the 110V operation. Can anyone recommend some cups and tungsten types for welding .060-.100 aluminum sheeting? I know some people recommend gas lens cups - just wondering what you guys thought! Thanks,DavidNew Miller 200DX Owner! |
