how do you remove the liner on the millermatic 210 factory stock whip
Reply:I am not familiar with the exact gun but am inclined to post something because you can ruin a liner easily if you don't think and just start pulling.  Remove you shielding nozzle and contact tube first.  Remove the wire and tie it off at the roll.  Disconnect your lead from the machine which is often a set screw or locking bolt at the machine.Once you have the gun lead separate from the machine inspect the diffuser at the gun end.  Look carefully for a VERY small Allen head set screw.  The thing is something like a number six and requires a very small Allen wrench.  Loosen this off before unscrewing your diffuser or pulling the liner out.  If you fail to spot this set screw you will damage the end of the liner as you attempt to pull it out.  If you do not have a set screw you can unscrew the diffuser and pull the liner easily out.  If you feel any resistance the check for that screw.  I have lost count of the number of good liners I have seen damaged by pulling them out before loosening that screw.   If you are installing a new liner it helps to read the instructions on how to trim it to length.  I have lost count how many......
Reply:I dont have that gun, but all the guns I have seen have a set screw of some type on the connector end.  After a little disassembly depending on the connector, loosen the set screw(s) and the liner should pull out easily.  If not there may be another set screw on the other end.  I have a tregaskiss gun that (I think) has a set screw at both ends.  Like Lotech says, dont yank.  The liners are just wound steel and will stretch, deform and kink if you fail to get all the set screws out far enough to release the liner.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:i figured it out but thanks anyways guys
Reply:On that same line, how often have you seen liners with no set screws left? I prefer to leave the top(gun)end out feeling that it is better for the gun to be able to twist without twisting the liner at the same time. Any thoughts, anyone?
Reply:I'm glad that you got it sorted out, but here's some advice that should work in the future for just about any Miller product.http://www.millerwelds.com/service/ownersmanuals.phpMiller has manuals in PDF format for just about anything that they've made in the last 10 years.  The manual for my Roughneck gun goes into very specific details about how to change the liner.  I'm sure that the manual for the MM210 or the gun itself goes into similar detail.  I just looked and see that the MM210 uses the M-25 gun.  The manual is here:http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o1035e_mil.pdf-Heath
