Fabbed up some wheels for the heavy stick welder(tired of draggin that thing around). Tig welded the mitered corners and tried to tig the wheels to the angle iron, but it wouldn't stick, must be the coating on the wheel brackets. Ended up mig welding them on. Wheels were only a buck each at a harbor freight type store(they are even miller blue!) I was thinking of bolting a couple of hooks to the back of the welder to store the 3 cables when not in use....any thoughts???....Thanks.... Attached Images

Reply:Looks good to me. A rack that you can hang leads on is good to have, also hang your jacket and hood on it. Why do you have the Thunderbolt? Theres a nice Squarewave 355 sitting right behind it I have used a Squarewave 355 alot, has one of the best DC arcs I have found Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG
Reply:It looks great. While you are thinking about hooks for the leads, what about running a pipe all the way up to give you something to move it around, without having to lean over...then attach hooks for leads and some tubes for holding rods while you weld.Great looking rolling base though. Well done.kevKevin / Machine_Punk from The Aerodrome Studio - Lincoln PowerMIG 210 MP - Meco N Midget w/custom welding station - Vintage Victor 100Current Projects: The Aerodrome Studio
Reply:Looks great! Love Miller Blue! For my Lomcoln tombstone, I welded a bottom plate onto a red hand truck. I drilled two holes and placed the buzz box over the plate. Screwed down some holes and now the machine is easily moved about.Lincoln Power Mig 216Lincoln AC/DC-225/125Miller 625 X-Treme PlasmaMiller 211 Forney 95FI-A 301HF 91110Victor Journeyman O/PMilwaukee DaytonMakita Baileigh NRA Life Member
Reply:Just weld up some uprights to the side of the frame to hang your leads/power cord on. I would do that rather than hang them off the side of the machine itself. That way it can also serve as the roll around handle too. |
