Gents, I just took the leap of faith and decide to go with a used Miller 211MVP. Ive done a few little projects around the house nothing major, mostly exhaust work. Im still trying to dial in my beads. With this said Im looking at consumables. I seen that the tips are not compatible with the Lincoln tips I have in my tool box. So I take it everything has to be Miller? Also I find it hard to believe that the Mig nozzles are going for 14 bucks each at Westair or Airgas. Is there any other places I should look to order?Westair said I should get the Nozzle gel to make the Nozzles last longer. Any other ideas or help is greatly appreciated.
Reply:eBay. WeldingCity or USAWeld. CheapNozzle gel works OK.

Reply:I like the spray non stick, or just plain PAM cooking spray (same thing repackaged). The nozzles last a long time too, not a huge expense.
Reply:$14.00 while a tad bit high, isn't going to break the bank. It's not like you're going to go through the nozzle on a weekly basis with that 211. .Lincoln Power Mig 216Lincoln AC/DC-225/125Miller 625 X-Treme PlasmaMiller 211 Forney 95FI-A 301HF 91110Victor Journeyman O/PMilwaukee DaytonMakita Baileigh NRA Life Member

Reply:I've got a 211 and have burned a lot of wire and am on the first tip and nozzle (0.030"). I bought a few extra tips and a nozzle at a local welding supplier but don't remember the cost, I believe it was very reasonable. I only bought them for future use so I had them on hand. Like I said, I'm still on the first tip and nozzle and have gone through two large spools of wire. The nozzle doesn't get clogged up with spatter often so I just clean it out once in a while with a piece of scrap. Most of what I weld is clean or I clean it well before welding however."All of this and some of that's the only way to skin the cat!"
Reply:Less than $20 (delivered) for a pair (2) of them off of EBay. Original Miller parts sealed in their original packaging. Several regular dealers sell them there, all within a dollar or two of each other. |
