A guy from South Africa is learning stick welding and is having trouble finding anything but 6013. He says that is all suppliers carry.Anyone have any advice that I could pass on to him? If anyone here is from S.A. and is aware of the supply circumstances it would be a big help.I mentioned that he should go to an actual welding business rather than a retailer and find out what the weldors use and where they get it. Can't imagine a "real" weldor using 6013 for everything.Thanks.Last edited by GWD; 08-30-2012 at 02:27 PM.Reason: grammar
Reply:I would contact these places. Seems like 7018 and 7024 are available along with specialty rods. Neither mention 6010/6011. http://www.mainweldingsuppliessa.co.za/ http://www.weldcut.co.za/stick-welding.htm"USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder
