I am only a hobby welder...but we needed a way to move our trailers around the farm without having to get a truck in there where in the winter it stays muddy most of the time. So, I built a hitch for the 3-point on the tractor that we can use a receiver hitch in. It will also be useful in the hayfield for pulling the tether. Here's where I started..moving along...and some of my hobby welding...the hitch....and mounted on the tractor...
Reply:My girlfriends dad has something very similar on one of his tractors to move trailers around, only his was bought.I think you did a great job on it.-Pat
Reply:Can't tell if you welded in the ball mount. It doesn't look like it was long enough for the locking pin to go through it and not be obstructed by the square tubing. If it isn't welded in then you can swap it out for a mounted pintle hook, clevis, different ball sizes, and so forth. Just makes the hitch more versatile.

Reply:Looks good!  I use that same model Swanson square when doing my welding.  Might want to cap off that vertical tube in order to keep water/mud/crap out of it.
Reply:Nice job! I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Reply:Awesome! I built quite a few of those myself [Account Abandoned 8/8/16 Please Do Not Attempt Contact Or Expect A Reply]. See you on YouTube! -ChuckE2009
Reply:Looks great. Did you tig this?
Reply:I made one of those too. It is so nice for moving ball hitch trailers etc. You don't have to get off the tractor. Nice job !      You gonna paint it ??   Really makes it look professional.
Reply:Very Nice!I made something similar for pulling logs although its not finished off as soon as it was functional it went to working. i need to make it pretty and add a chain grab or two maybe even some paint lol
Reply:Looks good.  Kind of like the first one I made. The second one I made I faced the ears for the top link forward so it would fit in my quick coupler then mounted a 2 5/16 ball facing up so I can move my goose neck trailers.   Dan D.

Reply:I made one at work to move generator trailers around with. The morons bent it within a few months. So.... the second version is a bit beefier. If you cant fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem."Boy, everyone starts with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. Reply:Originally Posted by DSWThat was my thought when I saw how this was put together. The light weight angle and design of the receiver thru the middle won't hold up to heavy use and will quickly get bent. I'm not sure if that little tractor has the snot to tear it up though, but the guys I know would certainly try, probably trying to pull stumps by getting a running start and jerking the tractor to a stop when the chain ran out.Your mods were very similar to what I was thinking needed to be done, but I might not have added the reinforcing to the top link for such a small tractor.Goat I have to ask why you'd go over 6013 with tig? If you made an ugly weld with 6013, making it look "nice" with tig really didn't do anything. No amount of cosmetics is going to hide the fact the underling thing is ugly. That's true for women as well as welds. Tig also really doesn't deal well with things like slag inclusions. It might look better, but all you did was shovel something over it to hide it better. If there is a problem, you need to break out the grinder or torch and take it all out and start fresh.

Reply:Not the greatest picture Built from 3" x 4" x 1/4" tube, 3" x 4" x 1/4" angle, 1/2" flat stock,  1" solid rod for a pivot, and i think its 1/2" rod on the tip for the chain to pass throughbut at -20c i have not intent on making it pretty right now lol
Reply:I did this a long time ago to move trailers around The tube is a ATV ball mount from HF and costs around $ 8.00 Welded it on with some 7018 and it has not failed me yet and it's been on there for years and has moved a lot of trailers aroundBacked my CATMA over your CARMA oops clusmy me  What would SATAN do ?? Reply:I built on for my tractor.. I think its the best thing I made for that tractor. and the good thing is you can use any thing that will fit in the receiver hitch, like a barb wire spool, d-shackle etcAdam MMorales Ranch
Reply:I'm gonna add a grab hook to mine. Just something else that will come in handy.
