I stopped at this pawn shop which I never do and I see a brand new Lincoln 175 hd with all the fittings the spools were still in the wrapper and the clamp didn't have a scratch. They add it for 399 and I lowball end at 325$ and they took it. Good buy or not?Last edited by bigsal51; 09-26-2012 at 03:24 PM.
Reply:What do I need to weld 1/4in steel?
Reply:1/4" will push that little machine to it's max and probably slightly beyond. Lincoln only shows one option for 1/4" and that is.035 FC wire. Even then they recommend multiple passes, so that usually means the machine is probably best if kept under 3/16" for critical welds. They don't show any recommendations for solid wire in that machine that thick.Manual for that machine if you don't have it.http://www.lincolnelectric.com/asset...ln3/imt825.pdf.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
