Reply:The frames i do for those big slab tables are designed as follows. the legs are position on thos inside corders of the frames. It effectivly shorts the length of the table and serves as gussets. The legs are typically 31'' i like to do those table about 1.5 inches above normal, which is 31. So legs are capped and go all the way to the wood. See in the picture below. I pay special attention to the weld line and align it to be on the inside of the leg, and on the frame it really does not matter, I still like to do the same on all the peaces, i.e either all in or all out, ad facing the same way. The legs are 11 gauge 1/8. The frame, is 3x1. I drill the holes in the 3x1 about 6 per side, and like 4 on the short side.  The width are typicall 38 to 40. Doing a dinning room table wider than 40 is a misstake (ask me how i know), reason is u can not even shake hands with the person on the other side. Reply:Two things about it, i stated doing this with Tig but know i got cubatron 2, those damn things are amazing metal eaters, ginds all in a hurry.
Reply:So now I bevel all my welds fill with mig and grind it off with that cubatron while its expansive it last 2 to 3 times longer than anything else from any other company I have tried just awesome
